Biography

Mathis Keïta joined HTV in the summer of 2024 as an experienced addition brought in to strengthen the point guard position within an ambitious roster.

After developing at the French National Institute (INSEP / Centre Fédéral), he moved to the United States for college basketball — first at Gonzaga University, then at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He later built a strong professional career in France, playing for ALM Évreux Basket, BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque (where he discovered Pro A and the FIBA EuroChallenge in 2017), Chorale de Roanne, SLUC Nancy, and Champagne Basket.

In 2016, he was selected for the French National Team A’, demonstrating recognition at the highest national level.

At HTV, he brings experience, poise, and stability at the point guard position, as well as strong playmaking instincts and natural leadership.

Playing Style

• A tall point guard, with excellent court vision, able to create mismatches and control the tempo.
• Playmaker and facilitator: during his last season before joining HTV, he averaged around 5 to 6 assists per game.
• Versatile, capable of orchestrating the offense as a traditional point guard or adapting to a freer role depending on the system.
• Experienced leader, providing structure and guidance to a young roster both on and off the court.
